President’s Message

The Perspective

Hello, I’m Ann-Toinette Johnson-Preston, Board Member for Harris County MUD 304.

I would like to welcome you to our first edition of “The Perspective”, an intimate look at the complexity of MUD Districts, its’ Board, Consultants, Vendors, Advisors, Counsel, and of course you, our Residents, the District. We will explore our most vastly dependent resource – water – as well as our land. In doing so we will also present issues that build up communities and contribute to helping us enjoy the privilege to be part of something unique, something that many around the world may never experience: the beauty of cultural, social, and economic diversity.

As we are already well into the new year with a new focus and no doubt, new prospects, we need to ensure that we put our perceptions into the right “perspective”. The latter is particularly important when addressing critical issues that pertains to MUDs and especially their Board Members. The key is to first understand “perspective” and what it means. The word perspective comes from the Latin word perspicere; per means to look through and spek to observe. This concept is relevant where transparency is concerned, and oftentimes will lead to misinformation if not in the right context. We will expand upon these views next month in “The Perspective”.

We recognize Black History Month and those who paved the way for many others before them.

Until we meet again, stay safe, be blessed, wear the mask.
