The Perspective – “Great Is Our Horizon” – May/June 2022 Edition

Tomorrow belongs to those of us who conceive of it as belonging to everyone, who lend the best of ourselves to it, and with joy.
Audre Lorde

I would like to share with you in this month’s message, a sign of hope and progress nestled in the denseness of circumstances. We recently had an election in our District to determine our continued leadership for the future. It must be understood that this role is not to be taken lightly and is always an important decision. In this vast and complicated journey, we continue to move forward with many awesome and wonderful things. As some of you received from me on behalf of the recent Board, the District’s Statement of Conditions, that indicates we were and are clearly going in the right direction. Progress may often seem vague, yet the potency of its end results is phenomenal. Just to highlight a few, we have a new community joining our Family in MUD 304, Echo Leaf, of Echo State Solutions,  which you may have seen the construction phases on Walters Road. In addition, an on-line Admin. Reservations System for the Multi-purpose Room, Improvements and Expansion of our Wastewater Treatment Plant, state of the art surveillance systems for the Admin. and Water Plants. It is with great appreciation that Board Members Debra Williams and Elvis Anderson played a critical and vital role in the path of our successes. In short, they will surely be missed. The knowledge and talents they brought to the Board was invaluable. As we welcome our newest Members, Director Michael Garrett, and Director LaFrances Moses, to our ranks in all good graces, we encourage them to remember the most important part of their duties, “at the end of the day, it is what is in the best interests of the District”. It is our philosophy and has been since the inception of our being seated as a “Resident” control Board in 2004. Thank you to all who participated in the election process……it was a long road. We do not change success; we cooperate with its purpose and progress.

Therefore, I conclude with this message – “The strength and character of the District is the diversity of its people and a zeal that entails a spirit of always reaching far beyond a boundary.”

In the next, “The Perspective”, Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants – The System. Many blessings!
