The Perspective – “Spring Into It” March Edition 2022

“I speak not for myself but for those without voice…those who have fought for their rights…their right to live in peace, their right to be treated with dignity, their right to equality of opportunity, their right to be educated.”*

Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani Schoolgirl and Education Activist

Welcome! In this edition, we pay tribute to all Women around the world to celebrate, “Women’s History Month”.

The month of March or Springtime is normally thought to be a time of the year when we begin to thaw and start refreshed and ready for the warmer weather. Of course, it depends on what hemisphere you may live, but for the west it is a wonderful time to regroup. I would like to approach the Spring with a different Perspective in that we are celebrating the extraordinary accomplishments of Women in History throughout the world. Many have made unspeakable sacrifices to promote their causes and help others, and not only other women, but young girls as well, and the whole of humanity. They have been trailblazers in sports, arts, entertainment, politics, science, as well as activists, leaders, entrepreneurs, religious, educators, journalists, and despite their plight to reach out to others, they are still someone’s mother, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, and wife, who have set aside personal endeavors to honor a calling. A purpose that would shape the course of history with an indelible and lasting effect on how we look not only at Women and their ability to stir a society, but also how we look at ourselves as a people to co-exist. As we continue throughout the month, may you remember the greatest roles women have…. being in each of our lives.

Of course, others may be asking, what does this have to do with MUD’s – well, and that’s the answer. In an industry that is predominate male, it is time! Let us encourage more young girls and young adult women to pursue an interest in environment, math, and science. Water is an invaluable natural resource and a good sewage, and drainage system increases the quality of life and safety for human beings everywhere on the planet. Many countries are severely lagging in this concept and are often deprived of the educational opportunities that are necessary to sustain. Until next time….Enjoy the warmer weather.
